Our Other Graduation Party

Not to be outdone, we attended another graduation party today—this time for our niece Jenna, who is now an alumna of Woods Cross High School. It was an event well attended by both sides of her family. (It had been quite some time since we had caught up with many of the Woodbury clan, mostly due to the pandemic and whatnot.)

Jenna's cousin and lifelong friend, McKenna (their birthdays are only two months apart, after all) is also graduating from Davis High School this week. Jenna is going off to BYU in the fall (we never saw that coming, since she comes from a diehard University of Utah family) to study graphic design, while Kenna is headed to Weber State.

Our Dinner with Olivia

Our niece Olivia just had a birthday and graduated from Viewmont High School, all within the last month. On Saturday morning, your favorite Fun Aunt and Uncle attended her graduation party at her house in Centerville. We then were able to arrange to go out for sushi with her for her birthday outing later in the day.

Admittedly, I am no sushi connoisseur, nor have I eaten much sushi. But I really enjoyed this outing to Fat Fish; I'm (almost) always ready to try new things. Among the sushi we had (the names that I can remember) were a California roll, a Vegas roll, and a Maui Wowie.

Anyhow, Livvy is a great kid, and we're lucky to be her aunt and uncle. We're looking forward to see what she will accomplish in college and her other endeavors from this point forward.

"Let's Go to the Movies"

On Tuesday night, we were back at CenterPoint Legacy Theatre in Centerville (remember that place? I used to perform improv there) among a mostly maskless crowd. The main attraction: our 12-year-old niece Kira's show "Let's Go to the Movies," featuring the CPLT Middles. She did a great job on her solo, which was a High School Musical song I didn't recognize.

 

We saw a talented group of kids perform. My sister-in-law Jana also produced the show and is obviously doing great work.

Plowman Family Dinner/May 2021

Last Sunday, we met up for monthly family dinner at Ben's and Adi's home in Centerville. Meatball subs were on the menu, and they were delicious! JB baked a Texas sheet cake for dessert that was, likewise, very good.

Adults and kids alike had a great time together.

"Twelve Angry Jurors"

On Saturday afternoon, JB and I traveled up to Davis High School in Kaysville to catch a matinee performance of the play Twelve Angry Jurors. The jurors were, indeed, angry, and the cast did a great job in this collaborative effort.

Oh yeah, our niece McKenna had the starring role as Juror #8! She knocked it out of the park—not that I'm biased or anything!

Star Wars Day

May 4th, aka Star Wars Day, has now become an occasion for holding a family party. And why shouldn't it?

We gathered at Ben's and Adi's home last night for this occasion. Our puppy, Leia, was dressed to the nines in her Chewbacca harness:

Yes, I realize how odd it is having a dog named Leia not wearing any Princess Leia buns on the sides of her head. (We don't have any for her yet.)

Speaking of which, we sampled a number of Star Wars-inspired goodies, including as Princess Leia buns:

We watched a few episodes of "The Clone Wars" TV show. (It being a school night, we didn't try to get through a movie.) Kids of all ages—but more specifically, the niblings—enjoyed the various activities, such as decorating their own droids, a great deal.
