Kate's First Birthday Party

My cute little niece Kate turned one year old today. Much of the family and some friends gathered for a party over at her place.

The party included a Disney theme, including a photo booth with options to don the costumes of favorite Disney characters:

Naturally, I went with Donald Duck. Kira, Jenna, and Luke were good enough to pose for this shot with me.

The birthday girl had her (cup)cake . . .

. . . but did not eat it, too. Or did not want to at the moment.

It was her party, so no one made a fuss.

Improvables: The Pac-ing Dead

Last week, the members of the Improvables took new headshots because (1) they were somewhat overdue and (2) we like doing that type of thing, especially as a cosplay.

I chose to depict Sgt. Abraham Ford from "The Walking Dead" TV series.

It was enjoyable to see what everyone chose to wear, and there was a good variety of creativity on display.

As always.

La-La-La-La Lasagna

Over the weekend, I made lasagna for the first time:

Granted, I had a lot of help from Steve and Summer and also little Daniel (who went shopping for ingredients at the grocery store with Steve and me), and we used Jana's recipe to mix and prepare the meal.

I think it turned out very well, and no one got food poisoning, so all in all it was a lot of fun to do.

Family Dinner/March 2016

Kids and wrapping paper (or, in this case, newspaper):

Good formula for a great time at our family shindigs.
